One-to-one disability support & mentoring

A shared interest.
A place to begin.

Practical support with Alex for boys and young teens, particularly those on the autism spectrum. Time to connect, try things and take a little more of everyday life into their own hands.

At home and in the community, across the Surf Coast, Geelong and Bellarine.

Music is one of Alex’s own interests. Shared interests can be a natural starting point.

Support in everyday life

Something they enjoy.
Something to build on.

An activity gives us a reason to spend time together. Along the way, there are chances to make a choice, share an idea, work through a difficulty or take responsibility for a task.

We choose what fits their interests, your family’s priorities and how the day is going. These are possibilities to discuss together.

Connection & shared interests.

Music, games, conversation and activities they look forward to. Familiarity grows through doing things together, with room for humour and time to be themselves.

For example

Choosing a song, taking turns, learning a few chords or working out a tricky part together.

A chance to express a preference, listen and keep trying.

Out in the community.

A familiar walk, a local shop or an outing planned around their interests. Support with the small decisions and social moments that come with being out and about.

For example

Choosing where to go, checking what’s needed and practising asking for something at a shop.

A chance to participate with a steady person alongside them.

Everyday independence.

Practical tasks at a manageable level: preparing food, organising an activity or doing their part. Enough support to begin, with space to have a go.

For example

Deciding what to make for lunch, finding the ingredients and taking on one part of preparing it.

A chance to make choices, contribute and see something through.

Activities and support arrangements are agreed with your family. The same activity can look very different for two young people.

Based in Anglesea

Local support.
Room to get out.

Support can take place at home and in the community. We discuss the location, travel and any practical considerations before starting.

Ask about your area
  • Surf Coast

Anglesea, Torquay and surrounding areas, extending to Lorne.

  • Geelong

    Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula.

  • Inland

Surrounding communities, as far as Winchelsea.

Before we begin

The practical things.

A clear understanding of the arrangements helps everyone start on the same page.

How do we know whether it’s a good fit?

We begin with a conversation about your young person, what they enjoy and where support would help. We also discuss the support they need, location and availability. If it looks suitable, we agree on a comfortable way to meet.

Can we discuss our NDIS plan?

Yes. Tell Alex how the plan is managed and the type of support you’re seeking. Funding suitability and service arrangements need to be confirmed before support begins. You don’t need to send your NDIS number or plan documents with your first enquiry.

What are the fees and travel arrangements?

We discuss the applicable rates, travel, activity costs and cancellation arrangements before you commit to support. These details should be clear in the agreed service arrangements.

Is this therapy or specialist behaviour support?

Convi provides practical disability support and mentoring. Alex is studying psychology, but is not practising as a psychologist. This service does not provide psychological therapy, diagnosis or specialist behaviour support.

What if my young person needs time to settle in?

We can discuss their preferences and a manageable introduction. Getting comfortable with someone new may take time. Read how Alex approaches trust, pace and transitions.

Do you have a time available for us?

Contact Alex with your location and the days or times that would suit. Service hours are Monday–Friday 8am–9pm, Saturday 3pm–9pm and Sunday 9am–5pm, Victorian local time. Available appointments need to be confirmed directly.

Tell me what they enjoy.
