Respect. Clear expectations. Sound judgement.

How we work
& the boundaries we keep.

Practical support built on trust, with a clear understanding of the role and responsibilities.

Effective · Policy CV-02 · Version 1.2

This is a summary of Convi’s Code of Conduct, Professional Boundaries and Scope of Support Policy. The full policy applies to Alex and anyone engaged to work for Convi. You can ask for a copy or have it explained in a way that works for you.

What you can expect

Support should feel steady, respectful and clear. I turn up ready for the work we have agreed, listen to your young person and take responsibility for how I conduct myself.

There is room for humour, shared interests and a challenge at the right pace. There is also room to say no, ask for a break or question an approach. Concerns are taken seriously.

What this support includes

Convi provides practical disability support and mentoring with Alex Attard. Depending on the young person and the agreed plan, that might mean music, games, a community outing, preparing food or practising an everyday task.

I am studying psychology, but I am not practising as a psychologist. This service does not provide diagnosis, psychological therapy, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy or specialist behaviour support.

I can help practise suitable everyday strategies agreed with your young person’s treating team when they fit my role and skills. If a request needs different expertise, staffing or safeguards, we discuss the right next step before going ahead.

Clear professional boundaries

The relationship stays focused on your young person’s support. Contact uses agreed channels and has a clear purpose. I do not use secret chats, disappearing messages, personal social-media friendships or private gaming contact outside support.

Physical assistance must have an appropriate purpose and respect the young person’s body and privacy. There is no place for threats, humiliation, physical punishment, grooming or sexual misconduct.

If we already know each other through the local community, we discuss any overlap that could affect support. Being familiar with a family does not remove professional responsibilities.

Knowing when to pause

Activities need to fit the young person, the setting and the support available that day. If an activity cannot be done safely, we pause and work out another approach.

Medication assistance, personal care and higher-risk activities need a separate assessment and suitable arrangements. They are not added informally to a mentoring session.

Convi does not authorise regulated restrictive practices while operating as an unregistered NDIS provider. Family permission alone is not enough. Read more in our child-safety statement.

Clear costs and independent choices

Rates, travel, activity costs and cancellation arrangements are discussed before you commit. Reports and invoices must be accurate and reflect the work and arrangements agreed.

You do not need to give gifts or buy another service to receive support. I do not accept cash gifts, gift cards, valuable gifts or hidden referral incentives. Relevant personal or business interests are disclosed so you can make an informed choice.

Convi is an unregistered NDIS provider. Funding arrangements and the suitability of a support need to be confirmed before it begins.

Respecting your information

Service records should be factual and useful. Your young person’s information is handled for the agreed support or another lawful purpose. Photos and publicity need separate permission; saying no does not affect support.

Read our website privacy notice. You can ask Alex about the handling of client records or request a copy of the full conduct policy.

Questions or concerns

You can ask about a boundary, question a decision or raise a concern in person, by phone or by email. You can have someone support you to do so. You will not be disadvantaged for raising a concern in good faith.
