Plan the outing
We agree the activity, transport, costs and support needed before leaving. Plans account for communication, health, supervision and what to do if circumstances change.
Beach and pool visits
Visiting a beach does not automatically include swimming. We discuss the intended water activity, ability, conditions, staffing and safety arrangements. Lifeguards add protection but do not replace direct support supervision.
Transport
Vehicles, insurance and restraints must suit the journey and the participant. Pick-up and handover arrangements are agreed so responsibility stays clear.
When plans change
If conditions or staffing cannot support a safe activity, we choose an alternative. Concerns and near misses are recorded and used to improve future plans.
